Welcome to ACCA

Thank you so much for considering Alexandria Classical Christian Academy for your family.

Alexandria Classical Christian Academy (ACCA) is a newly founded classical Christian school in Alexandria, Virginia. Our vocation is to help parents inspire, and enrich the education of their children. In partnership with parents, we teach children to love and pursue truth, goodness, and beauty--all realized in a person of Jesus Christ. Our students love to learn, think well, delight in beauty, act with virtue, and create.

It has been my true honor to work in classical Christian education for over 13 years, and I look forward to bringing together excellent curriculum, wise and delightful educators, and a love for the Gospel into a rewarding school community. Classical education for children is full of exposure to rich history and truth, time outdoors to enjoy creation, the language of mathematics, stories that transform the imagination, and vigorous work of which to be proud. Classical education for parents is full of meaningful collaboration with teachers, preserving time to read aloud and study with your child, and the space to form lasting and meaningful friendships with other families.

A CLASSICAL, CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Alexandria Classical Christian Academy (ACCA) strives to cultivate excellence, wisdom, and joy by partnering with parents in the education of their children.

A classically educated student is trained to love truth, goodness, and beauty in God’s world and to express this love in a way that persuades others to do the same. Classical education has as its goal a person who is equipped with the tools for learning. This education serves the child well as he pursues learning in any field throughout his life. A liberal-arts education is the foundation of the classical approach, and it includes instruction in grammar, logic, rhetoric, math, arts, and sciences. Classical education was the education that all of our past great leaders received, and it shaped many of our country’s founders, the apologists of the Christian faith, classic authors, and great scientists.

The student is taught to see God in all subjects. The beauty of God’s design can be seen in mathematics, science, literature, and art. The student who is taught to embrace this worldview will find new understanding and delight in all subjects. Because a Christian worldview is best taught through example, ACCA hires faculty who embrace a thoroughly Christian worldview and express it in each of the subjects taught.
